If you’re like me, you struggle to drink black coffee & need some added cream. I’m still working on it, but coffee with cream is so dang GOOOOOD. I recently found an incredible product to add to my coffee routine & I want to share it with you.
But before I get to the best secret ingredient that you can add to your coffee, I want to give a few tips and share my coffee journey.
A long time ago, like four years ago, I drank my coffee with coffee creamer. The kind of stuff that you buy in the grocery store. It’s loaded with nasty ingredients and TONS of sugar. Really, check the label. I used to think that because I was only adding a few tablespoons, that I could just drink it and not worry about it. I would be frustrated by high blood sugars and wonder WHY?! Well, it’s pretty simple, that stuff is pure sugar with added chemicals.
Anyway, I’ve since learned that coffee creamer isn’t great.
Now, I drink my coffee with either half and half, or heavy whipping cream, They both have minimal carbs, and no added crap. Milk has tons of carbs, so no, never milk. Alternatively, you could also use unsweetened almond milk or other nut milk. I still need to take insulin when I drink coffee with either of these (you may or may not need to, I don’t know you or your body)!
The cool part, when you go to Starbucks or Caribou, or wherever, they actually refer to this option as a Breve latte. If you ask for a Breve, they’ll automatically make a latte with half and half. I always double check that they know I want it with H&H, but they always smile and say of course.
Anyway, a HUGE game changer to my coffee routine has been SKINNY MIXES. They make a variety of sugar free syrups that can be added to just about any drink! I LOVE their brown sugar & cinnamon syrup, it’s my favorite. I add it to my coffee (w/ cream) and it tastes incredible! If you’re not a coffee drinker then you’re probably not reading this, but if you are, I do add this to my black tea and it’s fantastic! The best part is that they’re all sugar free and have no impact on my blood sugar.
If you’re interested in trying their syrups, you can use “theinsulintype” to save 10% off your online order. Their syrups can be found here. So just know, I truly appreciate your support & that I would NEVER promote a product that I don’t use or believe in!
