Germany, here we come!
In case you missed it, I had my baby 👶
As always, I’m late in posting. This picture was taken at 24 weeks and I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant.
Most Sundays I do an anonymous “confession” via my stories. Things you want to share about your diabetes but may be ashamed to share for everyone to see. One of the topics week after week is withholding insulin to lose weight, aka #diabulimia. Many people message me not even knowing it has a name, but know they struggle with it. And many have zero idea of where to go for help. If you or someone you know is struggling with diabulimia, please check out this resource page, linked on my website. And of course, if you are aware of more resources, please let me know and I’ll update the page! ❤️
World Diabetes Day, a day late.
15 years down. Thanks to my favorite sister for always remembering and reminding me ❤️ #diaversary
I’m hopping on the Omnipod. I’m almost 16 weeks pregnant and still doing MDI (vial and syringe), which is fine, but I anticipate needing more insulin soon. And the added flexibility of correcting or adjusting at any time is appealing. I have only ever used a Medtronic pump before, so this will be interesting! First was the paradigm minimed or whatever it’s called, then I had the 630/640 and the 670G. To be honest, I was dreading going back on the medtronic pump because of how bulky it is, and now having a toddler, I didn’t want to worry about her pulling on the tubing. I messaged my doctor and she wasn’t sure if the Omnipod would be covered since my Medtronic pump is only 2 years old, but she put the request in anyway. And I learned from Omnipod that they try and have their products go through pharmacy benefits and not DME (durable medical equipment) so that it is covered and you don’t run into the issue of a 4 year waiting period. I had no idea! So anyway, I’m really excited. Send me all your Omnipod tips ❤️❤️❤️
Feel free to share your diabetes confessions on this post!
The other week I was approached by a father whose 11 year old son has type 1 diabetes. He noticed my Dexcom and made a comment about how amazing it is and how his son has one too.
